Lily Kostka Named MCAC Softball Athlete of the Week

Helping lead the Ironhawks to their first two wins of the year, Kostka had an outstanding weekend at the plate. In the four game set in Rochester, Kostka hit .615 from the plate, going 8-13 with five doubles, one triple and 7 RBIs. In three official at bats against Minnesota West on Saturday, Kostka went 3-3 with 3 RBI's and 4 runs scored as Vermilion scored their first win of the season 14-8 over Minnesota West. In the second game of the day, she went 2-4 with 2 RBI's.

Kostka and the Ironhawks return to play this week with games at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minnesota with double headers against Minnesota North - Rainy River and Minnesota North - Mesabi Range.
