New Football Head Coach

Minnesota North College - Vermilion Campus Dean, Chris Koivisto I am very happy to announce that Tyree Johnson has accepted the college's offer as the next coach of the Ironhawks.  Tyree has experience coaching and recruiting at the high school, community college, and college/university levels. He most recently served as a defensive coach for Crookston High School and previously assisted over a series of five years at the Vermilion Campus. Tyree is excited to return to Vermilion and provide leadership to students in pursuit of their academic and athletic goals. 

 In response to his hiring Coach Johnson states, "In my seven years of coaching, I have dedicated myself to providing student athletes with the tools to overcome life's struggles and to help them become their best. I am excited to bring Ironhawk pride and a culture of discipline, excitement, academic achievement, athletic achievement, and personal development. This will be achieved through the Vermilion community working together as one team. I appreciate the support and am grateful for the opportunity."

 Coach Johnson plans to return to Ely in July to be ready to begin camp on August 11th.
